A DC power plug, also known as a barrel connector, is commonly used to deliver direct current (DC) power from a power supply to small devices and equipment. Typically located on the power cord, it consists of concentric metal sleeves separated by an insulator.
Standard DC plugs have two conductors: positive (power) and negative (ground). Correct polarity ensures proper voltage and current delivery, preventing equipment damage. Available in various barrel diameters and lengths, the most common sizes are 5.5 mm outer with 2.1 mm inner, and 5.5 mm outer with 2.5 mm inner.
