Overview

Developed in the late 1940s, BNC connector is a quick connect or disconnect radio frequency connector which is used for coaxial cable, this quick connect/disconnect circular connector features a two-stud bayonet locking mechanism that users twist and snaps into position. The most common impedance of BNC connector is 50 ohm and 75 ohm, and BNC connector is used at low frequency, typically below 4 GHz and below 500 Volts.
BNC connectors were commonly used for early computer networks such as the 10BASE2 variant of Ethernet. Common types of coaxial cable used with BNC connectors include RG58U, RG59U, RG174U, RG6U, and RG11U.
A reverse polarity version is also available.
